Family Lines GP16s were sold out quickly in HO. Lots of the real GP16s were sold to short lines. I would want one in O scale if offered. https://www.walthers.com/gp16-dc-family-lines
I go the other way. Really easy to do it yourself. Cab windows might be difficult - but if you are careful you might be able to do a credible job.
Always seemed to me that 90% of plastic GP and SD models were chop-nose.
I'd think it should be pretty easy to modify a GP20 with the correct roof fans/exhaust for a GP8 or GP10 and call it good.
there is a nice resin cab and nose out there in O scale, I bought his hammerhead RS-3 cab and GP-9b conversions. very nice clean castings. can't remember the name of the outfit that makes them. I will look and see if I can find it again. I ran across it while on google looking for upgrade parts for a red caboose GP-9 I have.
Apparently Intermountain still has not delivered their HO GP16 due to a factory closure. Just thought I should clear that up. Now I have to wonder if new tooling for a GP16 would really sell that many more than say a Family Lines painted high hood GP9. I would say this is a project for Sunset only.
found it. Pacific Northwest resins.. found them on EBAY. $32 for the cab and nose.. lots of others in his shop as well.
