All seems to be quiet on Weaver models. What's going on with them?
Have you asked THEM?
Sorry but I am not there in York. Also nothing new on their web page and catalogs offerings. I though I would hear about them in TCA presentations.
Paul FIsher did give the Weaver Models presentation in Strasburg yesterday at 2:30. I just ran out of time to post last night.
They have a flyer with their current offerings. It sounded like the Alco RS-11 models need more pre-orders or they may be in jeopardy of not being produced. The 40' flat cars with 35' trailers are being produced. Paul mentioned that the Army versions of this car have been very popular.
They have some new woodside reefers. One that was brought to display was the Bad Tom Smith brewing car which has much brighter colors than the flyer photo that appears a bit greenish. If I recall correctly, Bad Tom Smith was a historical character who was so hated that 5000 people showed up for his hanging back in the day. The Bad Tom Smith brewery is a modern company (three years old I think Paul said) so the reefer is a kind of fantasy as if it existed back in the 1930s. There is also a reefer that has a motorized track cleaning mechanism included.
Mechanical reefers are back. Weaver continues to offer a full line of Scalecoat model paints.
Thanks for the update.
