I don't have pictures, but I did notice some differences between this "limited quantities" production and the earlier Norfolk Southern Heritage scheme.

  • The paint is a matte finish rather than the glossy finish the heritage versions sported.
  • The Legacy horn sound is different--more robust and more realistic to my ears. The SD70ACe, heritage ES44AC, and second-production ES44AC all have different horn sounds.
  • The screws to attach Kadee couplers to the included brackets are shorter than those included with heritage versions, so short that they do not pass through the coupler itself but only reach through enough to be flush with the other side.
  • Like the heritage ES44AC models, they do not include the means (screws, spacers, screw holes) to fix the pilot to the frame that the SD70ACe models provided.
