As a native Minnesotan, there's a dearth of post-war shops in the area. Maybe too hard to compete with frozen lakes and ice houses!

Hopkins, a suburb just west of MPLS does have Steve's Train City which has a random variety of post-war. The shop is hard to find and has limited hours too. I think they focus on selling most of their stuff via Ebay. But here's some info:

Unfortunately, Minnesota is a real desert when it comes to 3 rail in general. The others have pretty well spelled out the situation.

If you are just looking for train related activities, the Twin Cities Model Railroad Museum has a nice 2 rail layout as its centerpiece. They also have a number of other smaller layouts, including a Dunham Studios 3 rail layout.

Forum members are also welcome to visit my layout. Just email me if you'd like to accept the invitation. I might even have some postwar to sell, but nothing too exotic.

Well I'm from upper Michigan, and just made a run over to pick up a four-wheeler today in Hastings. It's a six-hour drive for drive for me. I'm at Burger King in Hastings right now and I'm going to go get the 4-wheeler and should probably start heading back home as far as Wausau anyway tonight. So I'll have to look up these train shops on the next round. I'll be back in a month or so, and Elliott yes I'm planning on taking you up on the offer to see your layout. The pictures are crazy. On the next trip I'll be down with the  family and I'd love for them to see it too. Thanks Matt
