One thing I’ve done with my Genesis’ plows is lengthen the slots for the screws and slide it up against the pilot. It really helps.
thanks!

I do! It was a bear to track down. Phil had one for the longest time on the shelf but I never expressed my interest. Then my daughter and I spent A LOT of time trackside during 2020, and then I got hooked. By then it was too late, that’s how I got the 84. Took me almost two years of checking websites everyday to find one. I didn’t hesitate when I found one.
I can’t live in the Utica area and NOT have one… they come by multiple times a day.
I’ll keep an eye out for one.

Appreciate it! I'm a new yorker too, got alerts setup on some sites, hopefully one crops up. Where'd you finally find one?

Trainz. 👍🏼 I knew you were a New Yorker… Dashing Dan!
It’s an addiction…

to round it out Pepsitrak (#108) is also a Pennsylvanian but train 42 instead of 43
I thought the Pepsi scheme was #160, 108 is a 50th anniversary engine, no?

Correct!

OK, so which recent Atlas P-42 has the Pennsylvanian sounds?

108 and 173 have the pennsylvanian in each direction
Here are some pictures of the latest 3 Amtrak Genesis engines from Atlas along with the “fantasy” Amfleet cars for the Midnight Blue engine 100 and the Phase VI engine 108. The Superliner cars are MTH cars behind engine 175. Engines 100 and 108 are not “fantasy” - only the Amfleet passenger cars are not real schemes.
In keeping with posting the sound set for the Genesis engines - I just received my Amtrak P42 Genesis - #203 - Operation Lifesaver - it says it is Train Number 351 - The Wolverine.
Looks like the next couple are on the water to atlas according to the prod schedule on their site so looking forward to seeing them

Thank you all -seriously! I keep a little Google sheet exclusively for MTH Amtrak engines in case I finally get around to changing up my sounds. Obviously, I can't download Atlas sound sets yet, but I like to know what is where. I'd like my fleet to be strictly East Coast eventually.
I swung by @JR Junction Train & Hobby last night to check out the custom run Hudson, Knowing full well Phil has Atlas Genesis' in stock. I want one so bad, but can't swing it right now. I also want to do a comparison video between my #84 and the #173 he has in the case. Mostly because I'm a sucker for having diesels of the same class just slightly off (See my posting on the Atlas F40PHs; white stripes here, no stripe here, different horn here, hoses...). The #84 has the red stripe at the belt line with a blue stripe below, and on the newest run, #173 has it at the sill... Details, details, details.
Keep up the great thread! Pepsi cans may be on the way!
Thanks!

That #173 shade of blue looks like a much better match for the Lionel AOE cars than what Atlas showed in their 'catalog'. I could be in trouble!
@DG posted:Here is a quick picture showing how obvious the MTH dummy from 2004 has the wrong shade of blue.
Front - MTH #193 Dummy from 2004
Next - Atlas #175 just released
Next - MTH #84 from 2019
Back - MTH #202 from 2017
This picture doesn’t show the small differences between the shades of blue on the other Genesis engine because I made no effort to correctly light the picture for my cellphone picture. 😊
You can see what I’m talking about here, where @DG has the Atlas #175 and MTH #84 in the middle, and see how the red stripe is higher up at the belt line compared to the Atlas #175! I ❤️ it!

I just heard from Phil @JR Junction Train & Hobby that the 2-rail Pepsi can #160's are arriving... And a few more of the 3-rail #175's are coming, as well!
what about the 3 rail pepsitraks?
@DashingDanLIRR posted:what about the 3 rail pepsitraks?
Phil said "probably", but he didn't have any on preorder; just the two 2-rail.
Stay tuned for pictures, some time soon.

@clem k posted:Here is my share, I received 2 rail versions #173 and #175. Had a bit of a problem with both units, the coupler mount front and rear. The stamped metal frame was warped a little, making the couplers too low. Took the body off and bent the frame back in shape, bends just with bear hands. Installed the Kadees (the holes where in the correct location) and the snow plows. Now all is well. The blue color is a little different but I like it better. They run smooth.
Thank you for posting the new ones and the #84 side by side! Saves me a trip to compare them.
I just heard from @JR Junction Train & Hobby that they have arrived, so I'll be posting some #160 pictures very soon.
Thanks!

Still waiting on Trainworld, very excited

So, @CentralFan1976 are you testing me to see if I can keep my wallet under control and NOT get any more Genesis engines from this latest release? 😊😊 Mine would be 3 rail, so I don’t have to have the skills you have to make modifications.

For the record, it's not me. I surround myself with brilliance. In this case, the shop manager here at work did my dirty work.
Wail until it's done... like this before & after:
The #160 won't need as much; just pilot moved back, couplers, plow, new cut lever and perhaps more.
Thanks,
- Mario

Maybe 1.75mm was a little much, but the new cut lever is nice.
thanks!
