For a time it seemed that dealers were discounting their Williams BB engines at great prices -probably because they all were equipted with the Trueblast II digital elecronics system which is being replaced in the new product. Are there still dealers with inventories they are trying to move in anticipation of Williams newer electronics? If so, who are they? Thanks for your replies. Dick

www.trainworld.com, SD 90's for 99.99 and 109.99 STILL, 1st page of the
Williams , selection,
dont forget Pats trains ( forum sponsor) their sale, till July, 15th,
Pat's Trains has some and a 10% discount on right now if you look for other post on this list.
At Trainworld they just finished a 4th of July Sale;
but on many of the AA set's of various types if it shows a B unit in stock and if you ask them when ordering some of these are available at the A-A price with a matching free B unit if you use the code "Free B"
Picking up Bachmann engines at close out prices.
Not much in the way of roadnames to select from at this point in time!
Several months ago I bought brand new Williams scale GG-1s in various PRR paint schemes at a discount when Trainworld was clearing them out.
I also bought several brand new sets of Williams Es, PAs and FAs at a nice discount from Trainworld and on Ebay.
All these can be upgraded with better sound systems at a later date.
I would expect that the next round of Bachmann releases for these same engines will be at a much higher list price.
I keep getting emails from Trainworld about blowout sales on Williams trains, but like pro hobby mentions, no road-names that I want to buy.
They have NW-2's and GP-9's or GP-7's that they are trying to unload, a few years old but still in their original packaging.
Another one that is trying to unload some older Williams is Western Depot, he has more selection and slightly higher prices then Trainworld.
FYI, I am not that found of the new Williams by Bachmann. Would rather buy the older Williams before Bachmann.

I didn't think there was any difference between the current WBB or the recent pre-WBB Williams, except the packaging.
Why do you prefer the older Williams?
The secondary market is loaded with Williams and way below blowout prices. I think the upgrade to True Blast Plus is still years away. I have about dozen Williams engines and only 2 were bought new from a dealer.

You might also checkout Mario's Trains. You can see some of his selection via his ebay store (user id 'mariostrains')...hope it's okay to post this link:

He has at least one GP-30 that I saw listed that is supposed to have the "True Blast Plus", and as pro hobby alluded, the ones that say "New for 2013" seem to be priced higher, and have new packaging. However, at least one I was looking at looked more like the Williams before Bachmann packages, and it said it comes with TBII, which is a bit confusing
He also has a website and generally will offer anything he has listed on ebay at a lower price when purchased direct. Ultimately, I've been very happy with their service and my purchases from him, and they ship super fast. I've also received good follow up from them via email when I've needed clarification about model features or pricing.
I don't know much about the quality of Williams Berk's or Hudson's, but it appears from his ebay listing his prices vary by popularity of road names. I think I saw a Pennsy Hudson with asking price of ~$275, while the Santa Fe Hudson's asking price is ~$325.

I just purchased a Williams Sharknose A-B set for $115. These seem to be the last Williams diesels to sell out. Availability of roadnames is the problem.
Correction: The Williams Sharknose sets are A-A units (not A-B).
1 powered A and 1 dummy A
