I can find specs but not photos of these locos.  They were built by Baldwin in the 1905-1907 timeframe.

They had a driver size, driver wheelbase, and overall wheelbase that matches Lionel's LC+ Mikado almost perfectly.  I thought it might be fun to bash it into a scale model of the MA class rather than leave it a traditional (undersize) model of ATSF class 3129

I'm in the middle of my bashing project and posted that on the )-27/3-rail forum.

I've done some more research:  there were tons of Mikado, which means that even though only a small portion had driver wheelbases 16 feet or under, there were still a lot of them, many made by Baldwin in the 1907 - 1920 period.

So far, the smallest standard gauge Mikado I have found is Wisconsin Logging and Timber Company's Class 7 (Baldwin, 1920).  It had 42" drivers, a 11.5' foot driver wheelbase, and an overall wheelbase of only 26' 3" - it was a small loco!
