There was a guy in NY that was but he stopped doing it. Anyone know if there are any others doing it. I just want it for a holiday display. Don't need anything but the platform itself. I put carpet on it and install the track.

Rich, our web master had an article in OGR mag where he built one for his grand-kids. It was one of the best procedures I have seen to date.
I have built one out of 2' thick foam board that worked well as a portable floor layout but track alignment can be a issue to address.
As for a premade product, I'm sorry to say I can't help you. Perhaps one of our carpenters friends on site here can work out something with ya.
Good luck and have fun.
My around the tree layout is a folding affair. I took 2 pre cut pieces of plywood 3 ft x 4 ft and joined them with a piano hinge. Track was placed so that there were no sections to be joined across the hinge (the track lined up at the fold but no track pins). Each side was wired seperately so that the hinge section was not used to provide connectivity across the joint. All 0-27 track, primarily a trolley display. Can send you the plan or a pic if you like. This worked so well that I used it for a slot car layout as well. Advantages, folds and stores in a very small space.
Here ya go...
That sure is a couple of fine looking, young engineers you have there! And thanks for posting the plans as well.
Here ya go...
Thanks.
My local Model RR Club has built a layout our of 2 sheets of 4 by 8 plywood. The 2 sheets fold up in the center. each sheet of plywood has (4) 3/4" steel pipe legs one in each corner that screw into pipe flanges on the bottom of the layout. We haul the layout in a trailer folded up flat. When the layout is folded the track is protected by the plywood bottom. We cover the (3) door hinges with a mountain and install (3) 6 inch sections of track. see pictures.
