Carley, as far as I know, MTH has not made repros of true Ives cars. All of the cars they have done would be from the transition period when Lionel and Flyer had taken over Ives. Others may know the precise numbers, but my National Ltd and Olympian sets appear to be based on the 418 series Lionel cars. These would be a good fit with the 402/408 size engines. The Dorfan car above is about 13.5 inches long, a 418 is about 18 inches. The 418 is also about an inch taller and half inch wider. Quite a difference.

Steve they made the Orange cars with the stamped engine. Same cars on the wine colored Wannamaker set.

Wish they would make that electric with brass plates and the deluxe trucks and badging to make a "Bankers Special".

The 418 Ives transition cars use a Lionel body with Ives deluxe trucks and couplers and Ives badging. They are superior to Lionel 418 cars in every way. The trucks a nicer. The cars sit lower to the rail. Plus the badging decal looks better than the stamp.

The Ives transition cars look really good being pulled by the Circus train 1134.

My repro Ives are the National, the White set and the Olympian. All stunners.  Also have a few of the repro freights which are a mix of Flyer and Lionel bodies. I know some of the Ives purists don't like this era, but I do find it fascinating. There has been a Wannamaker set on the bay for quite a while. I keep thinking I'll go for it, then something else comes up to break the budget. The past month some cool McCoy has consumed all my play money.
