i was reading on NS facebook page that Andy Fletcher will be signing Heritage poster's at the event. Is anyone able to go to this? unfortinitly i'll be in training down in kessler AFB, will be unable to attend it. I would glady pay someone to pick me up a signed print from him. I would glady appreciate it!

It seems like the've been alittle slow latley with the heritage units, seemed like they had one out twice a week for a while, now it seems to be alittle slower. i've been waiting for the Penn Central one to come out!!

I'll probably show up one day.  This is going to be interesting though.  From what I heard at Spencer yesterday, ticket sales are enough that parking is going to be a major concern.  I've heard stuff about possible shuttles being used to get people on the grounds from Salisbury.  Should be lots of fun, but there are going to be a LOT of people there.

Maybe they'll do remote parking somewhere and have a shuttle. Should be a fun time for those going. They'll really going all out for this photoshoot... saw they had a a night shoot for additional $$, they have all the special lighting and everything. Hopefully weathers nice, but knowing some of the photo's NS photographers took it'll turn out nice either way...

Remote parking is probably the best option.  Even with the shopping center across the street, parking is limited.

As far as weather, expect temps near 100 degrees, high humidity and lots of chiggers (they are already out at Spencer...trust me!).  If it's not that bad, be relieved.  Central North Carolina isn't the most pleasant place to be in July.

fyi...for anyone coming out for that, the Southeast Threshers Reunion at Denton (about 45 minutes east of Spencer) will be running the week going into July 4.  Lots of cool stuff, including the railroad with grades upwards of 6%.  If you've never been, it's worth checking out.  That steam engine gets a workout on the hills, and they will operate about every 20-25 minutes.
