This one was in the Oakland yard in California. Never saw one before. It would be an interesting thing in a O gauge yard. Don

A water tower with two spouts is not that unusual, the Cumbres and Toltec (ex-D&RGW narrow gauge) has one at Chama NM:

Thanks Rusy, I'll have to look at my pictures of the Cumbres and see if I have a shot of it. Don

Don,
I would love to build something like that. It looks like it is constructed of steel and has an open top based on the windgirder at the top of the shell.

Hmmmm..... I thought you might be thinking about something like this one:
I was thinking like MWB, as l have two similar to that double tank, after the D, SP,&P twin tanks at Gunnison, Colo. I wish l had seen that photo, though, with the connected roof...would have done one like that. I bashed these and several single tanks from that Lionel kit, to give all the road's tanks a family resemblance.
Just received this from Dave DuHamel of Crescent Locomotive Works. This one isn't shown on his site. He had his personal one displayed at York and made one for me. If you are interested contact him. Prices are very reasonable but you may have to wait a bit.
If you need any info as far as track spacing to fit a specific area. I can go measure it out. When I saw it in person. It was different and cool looking. Before I ordered I took the measurements home with me.

I have seen Hieke's at York several times, but it didn't dawn on me until now that his had that joint roof. Well. I think l have at least one of those Lionel kits left..
That's interesting.
