I ordered direct from him and it is now almost 2 weeks with no email and no product. Item was listed as in stock.

A bit concerned. Don't want to cancel the order with Citibank, but i don't want to be left holding the bag. I won't repeat anything I heard because it is all speculation and BS. But not getting an in stock product tells a story all it's own.

Order was placed Nov 20. I actually bought an item from my LHS for less than he is selling it for. If I have to cancel I can grab one from him. But 2weeks is to longfor NJ to VA. Even with the holiday.

I ordered product (two items) advertised as in stock the same day as you (Nov. 20th), not from RMT but a forum sponsor. Geographical shipping distance is about the same as yours. So far, I've only received one of the items and that was just today (Dec. 3). I didn't sweat it too much, but it was a much longer shipping time than I generally expect and experience. I chalked it up to a small business trying to fulfill orders over a busy time. I hope you receive your order, or at least a status update, before you decide to cancel it.

I ordered 2 TTX flatcars with loads from Walter at RMT on Nov 19th and I received them by the Nov 28th. The day I ordered them I received a email confirmation of the order. It looks like you are in VA like me. RMT is a small family business so with the holidays and maybe many orders he is pretty busy. Seems like you should have got a confirmation email, so if it was me I would try to contact RMT and see if all is ok. I have always gotten great customer service from RMT in the past so I would give Walter a chance to make it right. Hope this helps and it all works out for you.

Yes, received email with a Merry Christmas wish and full tracking info for a STO engine ordered a while back. Will be delivered today as promised earlier by Walt. The real benefit too is , unlike those O-Line Reproductions, this engine comes with a FULL manufacturer's warranty. Considering those O-Line reproduction engines cost only a small percentage less than the prices Walter at RMT is charging for fully warranteed RMT-Direct engines, why would anyone risk buying a O-Line Reproduction without a warranty when you can buy from RMT-Dirfect with full warranty? I challenge anyone to show how those few dollars saved on an O-Line Reproduction engine will even come close to covering the service cost of parts and labor if that less expensive O-Line Reproduction fails after you've had it a few months! The choice of warranty vs. NO WARRANTY for just a slight additional cost seems like a no brainer to me unless of course you consider a hundred dollar plus engine which fails to be a "throw away" item!

Good news. Got 2 emails from him this AM and a phone call, which I missed but he left a message.Should ship tommorrow or Monday.

I'm satisfied.

Are you saying we can't buy the O-Line Reproduction stuff on the cheap and then send it to Walter for warranty service???  What is this world coming to???

Seriously though, I'm always amazed at some of the prices sellers want for products on the secondary market when warranties are long expired.  In this case, it's much more an issue with the powered locomotives than the rolling stock.  No risk with the latter aside from just returning a damaged product in shipment back to the seller for exchange/refund.
