Sounds like an entirely reasonable request. Since the authorities solicit comment I would urge O G R members to write in support to the hearing address.
I find that interesting becausethe #1293 hasn't been off the property for a number of years. The Cuyahoga Valley Line did request the us of that engine but AOSR turned them down. Wonder what extra plans they have for those 34 days.

It's spelled out in the request:
"Due to the purchase of OHCR by the GWRR in 2008, AOSR now only operates number 1293 for static and switching displays at its facility while under steam... AOSR anticipates that number 1293 will be used for approximately 34 additional service days during the requested time extension."
