Today I put an E6 ABA set on track 2 for the first time. On track 1 is an SD70ACE. It took multiple restarts of everything to recognize the E6's. I have so far been unable to remove the SD70 from the inactive list. When I start the E6 the SD70 also starts and the SD mirrors all the commands sent to the E6 by the tablet and by the handheld. At one point while using the handheld remote  both took off from 10MPH and quickly accelerated before I hit the E stop. After the E stop I reset everything including the WIU. Mth Z4000. Track 1 is on 1 handle and track 2 on the other.

Thanks Barry. I see there's an updated version at google play. Not sure why I never got an update notice on either device. I'll update and see if it fixes the problem

Updated the APP. Same problem. The problem also occurs using the handheld remote if that tells you anything. Any opinion as to Android vs Apple?  Seems to be a lot of little problems with Android here and I've not seen many complaints from Apple users.

Joe,

The problem also occurs using the handheld remote if that tells you anything.

Yes, it does. The problem is most likely not related to WiFi at all. More likely it's something more generic and should be addressed by using the remote to diagnose what's going on.

Using the remote, describe exactly what you're attempting to do and exactly what happens when you attempt it.

Could have been any of a number of ways.  One way to avoid it is to always use "ADD ENGINE" on the same remote.  DCS will then add the loco with the lowest ID number that is vacant on that remote.  It will also change the ID stored in the loco to that number, and the loco will retain that number when added to another remoteIF that other remote has that slot vacant.

Doberman, always add a new loco on your remote first.  At this point, I would delete one of the locos from your remote, and then re-add it so it gets a new number.  Then delete it from the device you use with your wifi, and then re-add it; it will come in with the new number and you should be set.  I have 4 remotes, a tablet, and a smart phone, and have no issues.  All locos have the same ID & name on all devices, by using this method.

The ID is stored in the engine itself, and the remote a keeps a record of it.

If all locos you have boxed were added to the same remote, they "should" all have different IDs, and you needn't pull them out of the box and add them to the tablet until you want to use them.

Scroll through the loco list in your remote.  If you own any locos that aren't listed, when you pull them from the box, add them to the remote first.  They should get new IDs (assuming your batteries aren't shot.)
