Beautiful locomotive, Thom.
Thanks Ed....that explains why i can't find it...thanks for the quick reply...joe
Those shells are being reproduced.
I had one on order and would do so again. Hard to believe they're weren't enough pre-orders to justify the run.
Tom,
Got to admit that is one cool looking engine!

Very nice Keith.

I can confirm the 6-18350 Archive Collection Lionel EP-5 was canceled due to low orders. The 6-28534 Archive Collection Grand Trunk GP-9 on the same catalog page was also dropped for this reason.

Whats funny many had this on order not just a handful. Just glad I have a nice custom one on a postwar frame.
Any idea who is doing repro shells?I have 1 for repaint...joe
Mine was done by Elliot Welz He does not do any painting any more. He was one of the best. I think I got one of the last items he painted. He was always at York.

L&L Model Train Restoration is offering them. I am on the fence about buying one.
Doc: Can you give a ballpark figure on what Elliot Welz charged to do yours?
I think it was $150.
Thanks.
I have had work done by Lenny i recomend him, e-xlent job...did he give you a quote? What was his turn around?
Lenny had one of the shells on display at the York train show this past April. They are listed in his current catalog. I don't know whether they are being painted to order.
The catalog states that he is supplying the shells, and selling the finished cabs fully trimmed for $200. It also lists complete locomotives for $600.
Thanks Keith for the info on do it yourself....joe
