I want to buy another CW80 transformer and I saw quite a few listed as CW80 on eBay without the Accessory Terminals. I don’t actually need the Accessory Terminals and will never use it, but I’m curious if it is in fact a CW80.

Ok thanks, I thought as much, but as I was searching they kept popping up as the same.
All of the CW-80's that I have seen have two sets of terminals, one for track (a - u) and one set for accessories (b - u).
Besides,the CW-40 is only 40 watts.

Thanks Sean, I was wondering about that and also wondering if it was 40W for the variable and 40W for the fixed combined to make 80W. I have no idea and just speculating.
On the CW80 it's not half per each, but it is total of the two. If you have no ACC, then you can use the full 80 on the track. And likewise if you load up the ACC port, then you could have none available for the track side. Because of this, the CW80 is always a better choice than the CW40.

Thank you Sinclair for clearing that up for me. That helps a lot
The nice thing about the CW80 accessory terminals is that you can adjust/set the level of power. This is handy for both lighting level and speed of animation.
Thanks Joe,
Let me ask you something about that adjustable accessory terminal. I have a separate transformer for a Bump and Go Trolley and the extra controller is always in the way especially with the kids playing around it.
So is it possible to adjust/set one for the trolley and get rid of the extra controller? I just have the trolley running at the slowest speed I can get away with anyway.

This is exactly what I do with one of my CW80s. Follow the instructions to set the accessory voltage, works perfect!

Thanks Pete, This is great news and solves so many problems, I can't tell you.
I have to have a power strip now to accommodate all the plugs and If I can get rid of the extra controller then I just need the standard 3 outlet extension cord. The power strip only has a 3ft cord anyway.
OK well I guess the accessory terminals will not work for me because I turn all transformers off when not using them and I have to adjust the output each time I turn it on.

Hmm. While that happens with my CW80s occasionally, most of the time they remember the accessory voltage setting no problem. They all have the "G" prefix to the number on the bottom.

Well I know one doesn’t have the G from an old photo, but I don’t know about the others. I have them all screwed down on a small cart right now and it’s too much trouble to take them apart.
I’ll just leave them alone for now and fool with them later.
