Are DCS motors electrically isolated from both the frame and track? I know this is a general requirement for DCC, and I wondered if the same principle is true for DCS.
Any metal on a DCS motor shell may well be making contact with the frame, but the wires to the brushes are not. (or "shouldn't be" would be more precise--if they are, you've got a problem)
That would be very true George. Even conventional motors with QSI or Williams reverse boards must be isolated, when you change polarity, bad things would happen if one leg was grounded.
