Are factory errors still happening? Missed lettering on a U28C. (Not meant to bash QC!)

Neal, can you help us identify which Microscale decals would be appropriate to use if:

1) You wish to replace all keystones to red and white.

2) You wish to just add matching red & gold keystones to the missing engineer side

 

You want to get Microscale decal set 48-194.  Has both the red/gold and red/white Keystones

Are these roughly the right size to match the others on the U-Boat?

My favorite factory error that I bought was an 027 gondola, blue with orange cannisters. It was painted with the road name LIONEL LINES and the N was omitted from the word LINES...

I have that same 8872/8873 set of SD-18's myself.  On mine, the 8873 was missing underneath the right side cab window.

They appear to be the correct size to redecal the sides of the unit, but a bit small to do the nose keystone

I haven't found any other choices, so they may have to do.

Curt, wonder if we had the same prankster working on our engines. Much as I like them, the MPC engines of that era were pretty marginal in my book.

Makes you wonder, doesn't it? 

 

I created a decal on the computer and took care of the omission.  One of my train club buddy's then tried to convince me I'd "ruined" a rare factory error.
