Seems over the time I've been on the Forum, I have rarely encountered pics or post on Cattle cars or scenery with pens in them. Growing up I remember seeing many cattle cars going to Chicago by the NYC and Milwaukee Rds. In fact we had a Hog and cattle pen about 3 miles from our farm were the locals would unload their livestock with a shack for the buyer and railroad clerk. I remember many days having to get up early to herd cattle and hogs with dad to these pens for 5AM pickups.
In the 60s there was Agar Ham which bought our raised hogs and would send trucks to the farms for pickup, then the Milwaukee Rd tore down the pens and shack, later the trackage was torn out.
