My Lionel Grand Central Terminal arrived today 2/1/14!  Just in time for me to take a few photos of it in its pre-planned spot on the layout. The layout was planned around the idea that it was going to be here for the holidays. So the real estate, although temporarily occupied, was waiting for its arrival.

Thanks guys! My friend Roger Farkash did a really great job on this building. It goes absolutely great with the Department 56 buildings.

Spence,

The lighting is consistent with the D56 style of lighting their buildings. However, I am probably going to try to give it a warmer, and more even glow. Not sure how yet, but I have the better part of 9 months to think about it. Off hand I'm thinking of soft white or amber colored LEDs would look great, but how to mount them? Perhaps even just swapping out the white bulb for clear yellow and figuring out a way of diffusing the light. Perhaps painting the front side of the bulb so you only get reflected light.  Maybe some of the other forum members will come up with a suggestion.
