I'm assembling an Atlas O diesel pilot, stair treads, foot boards, uncoupling bar and mu hoses are all separate pieces. Any tips on the proper adhesive to affix these parts to the pilot?

I scratch built an engine and stuff kept snapping off. I tried different stuff and they all seemed the same. Rich at Korber models suggested I try the Gorilla super glue for assembling one of his buildings I had purchased. I used that on my scratch build and nothing broke off any more. It is all plastic.
I imagine each response here will get whatever one has best results with. I didn't like regular superglue because it gets brittle and stuff will snap off over time. I tried industrial plastic glue that will kill you with it's vapors, and stuff still snapped off.
I'll second Gorilla glue. A couple of steps on my AtlasO SD35's had been broken off by a culprit (and when I catch myself, I'll be in big trouble!!!) I went through four different products over the past year or so, and the Gorilla glue has been the best adhesive so far.
Gorilla Super Glue is "Impact Resistant" which means it has a component in it that keeps the bond slightly flexible when cured to it won't get all brittle like regular super glue does. You can use an accelerator like Insta-Cure to set the bond instantly.
Another option if you're gluing someone really large (super glue gets expensive) is marine epoxy. It has similar properties to the Gorilla glue.

The gel or the regular?
A thick or thin CA and kicker is what I use, depending on the parts. You dont want a tick gap filling glue to plug up the walkway tread.
