Discussion at the LHS today regarding some posts on disintegrating Atlas Freight car trucks. I did a search on the Forum but could not find anything. Any one know about a problem like this
I was looking at some of my cars and noticed some are very difficult to get out of the box. Maybe shrinking styrofoam and causing pressure on the trucks?

Zinc pest? There have been several posts here about that. I don't remember Atlas being mentioned as having the problem, but I guess it can happen to any die cast metal from impurities in the casting metal so they could have very well had a problem with it as some of the other manufacturers have over the years.
I've had a few Atlas 40' boxcars where the trucks fell off because the metal bolsters literally disintergrated.
