i don't know about you but Atlas models has left me feeling depressed with nothing new to buy in a year. Just depressing I had to jump to passenger service just to take the itch out of my wallet to buy a model. I have waited years now for the 8-40CWs and failure to deliver. Now it is mentions early in the year that it is a new model, WHAT? I have had one on order for several years. just be nice if Atlas re released the GP15. I guess I am living up to my name, Grumpy. Ever since that Disney trip and that Grumpy coffee mug. Hey, I am usually a nice guy but sometimes one can only take so much like putting in a reservation years in advance and it keeps getting delayed. Oh well, guess I'll be happy with a new polo shirt this year. We don't wear too many if any ties in the SW. Usually at weddings and funerals are our tie events so most of mine are nearly 30 years old.

I heartily agree that there has been no new product in quite awhile.   It is almost as if the line died when Jim Weaver died.

However, a little kudos is in order.    I have ordered parts from Atlas a few times, most recently today.   If they have the parts in stock they ship within a day or two and I have them in 3-4.    They don't have all parts and have no parts for some cars, but they do have a lot of smaller detail parts for many of the cars.

I think Jim Weaver's untimely passing occurred about the same time as the manufacturing shake up in China was going on. Probably adding further to the problems. He was sure a driving force in O gauge at Atlas. I also wanted to order one of the 8-40CW's earlier this year when they were re-announced. My LHS said they were not sure they could even order one at that time, need to ask them again.

Pretty sure they are getting back on track so to speak and product should be hopefully flowing again soon. They are supposed to be getting 3 rail track and switches soon, so other items may not be far behind?

PCRR,

I just got some switch parts from them a couple months ago, I think they still have parts, hopefully they will have yours. Parts may not be as big a problem as new product has been? They told me about track and switch availability by the end of the year at the time I placed my order.
