Atlas O announcements for April, including the VO1000, and last call for the March announcements....

Does Atlas really have a stock of old TMCC EOB boards to use in the VO-1000's?  Listed among the features for 3-rail TMCC is "EOB™ Speed Control Technology" but TrainAmerica Studios is long gone.

I'm guessing it was the ad copy the last time Atlas ran these?

A lot could change by the time this engine actually goes into production, bear in mind there are 6 engines ahead of it to be produced at 1 a quarter [optimistic at best] this would put it in 4 Q 2019. JMO

Steve, when's your deadline for these Atlas pre-orders?

Steve, I know that you probably do not have the answer to this question, but do you know if these will have a actual Baldwin sound set in them? 

Does anyone know if this is the former Weaver tooling or Atlas tooling for the baldwin switcher? Has Atlas made this model before?

Look at the features for the individual locomotives. ERR is spelled out there. I’m guessing it was missed in the proofs. I might go for a LV . I’ll start saving a quarter a week. Should have enough when it arrives!

Mike, March is due to Atlas the 14th and the April items on May 16th. 

I don't know anything about the sound set - I will ask.... Yes, this is reuse of the tooling that Atlas acquired from Weaver. They haven't been made by Atlas before. 

It is my understanding is that Atlas has a different organization making these for them, so they aren't waiting in line behind other announcements. They have worked very hard to update these and get a manufacturer lined up.

Perhaps not fair to ask you but, any idea if Atlas will move other O scale locomotives to this new manufacturer after the VO1000 is proven?  Looks like the SD40's I have on order with you are going to sit in the same delayed schedule process as everything else.  I can afford to wait a few more years, but can Atlas?

I wouldn't believe Atlas concerning any locomotive production. Whatever issues they are experiencing in China still haven't been resolved.

I give these models no less than 3 years before/if they will see the light of day.

Thank you for the clarification. I wasn't aware the RS11 was former weaver also. I thought the weaver RS11 was made state side.

I posted on this somewhere.. emailed Atlas two months ago about the RS-11 we saw in the last bi-annual catalog in early 2017.  I got a response right away.  They are making them.  She told me to write back in two months and she’d have more detail.  Roadnames were D&H, BN, DWP, Maine Central..  maybe another I’m forgetting.  I’m certainly willing to wait.

ESU's website does have the sound sample for the  VO-1000. Oddly, it doesn't state the actual prime mover model number, like they do with the other engines.  I don't know what that means.

Hey Steve, the SYRX tank car has a bad link. I tried to order one, but no luck. Have you noticed nobody wants any?
