I recently bought an old Atlas O Scale F9 diesel in Santa Fe livery.  It is missing the two

air horns and one truck side frame.  I am looking for replacements for these three parts.

Also, in examining the way the side frames attach to the trucks, I have determined that

there is a flaw in the design.  It appears that it is very easy to break off the attachment

lug molded to the truck if one is not careful when attaching or removing the side frame.

Does anyone have any information about this?

Thanks for your help.

Audubon       I used a piece of brass angle that tillers us as edging for bathrooms etc. I presume the same sort of thing is available in the US. I also believe the same can be had in aluminium, you could also find some plastic angle. The angle goes over the pickup and holds it firm, you make the hole thing to fit snugly in place.Theres no way the brass angle will break, like the original mounting, and now the truck side frame just slips onto the angle. The same goes for the pickup, it won't break like the original.       Stephen   (cTr...Choose the Right)

To prrjim:  I bought my defective one on Ebay for $35, plus shipping.  I would

like to fix this one before investing any more money in Atlas F9s.  I would

probably buy another defective one just for parts, however.  Of course, it

never hurts to ask:  what F9 road names do you have, and what kind of prices

are you talking about?  Thanks, again.  Audubon
