Does anyone know the "depth" of the station, not including the platform ? I know the overall depth with the platform is 7.5 inches (according to the box), but I'm trying to squeeze it into a 5" deep area and would remove the platform to do that if the structure, itself, would fit. Width/length is not an issue.

Are you going to cut the roof off as well? The roof overhangs the building by about as much as the platform...
No - it is just the base. If the roof were low enough to where an engine might strike it, I would simply raise the structure up for clearance while keeping within the 5" base depth. If necessary, I could also raise the long end of the station to make sure the roofs line up.
I just measured mine, its about 5 1/8" wide if you include the stationmaster's bay window (4 3/8" without it) .
The roof overhangs 1" front and back. You are going to have to jack it up a ton if you want trains to clear the roof. Not only do you need to clear the roof, but you also have to clear the gable braces that hang off the station walls.
Thanks, Boilermaker - I assume the bay window is not "detachable" and I don't have any give on the 5" maximum, so it looks like a no go.
Back to trying to locate something else that is narrow and long.
