This may be a silly question - this is my first time using Atlas O track - using it in my engine service area because the turntable and roundhouse came with Atlas track - the rest of the layout will be Lionel Super O

I soldered a bridge wire under each of the whisker tracks to make sure both outside rails are grounded - my question - is it a good idea to do this in any of the approach / yard tracks  ??? - I’m planning on using Atlas terminal joiners with the wires soldered to them throughout the rest of the area - will the terminals distribute a good ground ??? - I will make sure to alternate the ground / outside rail joiners so both rails get “power”

Thanks in advance

I have worked on five rather large layouts using Alas track using their rail jointers with wires solder on the joiner and have never had an issue.  Just make sure the solder joint is solid (I have not discovered a new one from Atlas that was not solid) and the joiner itself fits tight on the rails.

Also, the outside rails were not connected together on any of them.  Having insulated outer rails makes using insulated rail to trigger signals a breeze.  And all layouts use command control without issues.

Good luck with your build,

Don
