Atlas O track repair

Not sure what you mean by the rail tabs are broken. You can buy track joiners if that is what you are talking about. You should be able to attach rails back to ties with contact cement. Maybe Walthers Goo. Atlas also made track end tie sections that you could trim back the broken ties enough to slip the new ones on. Tie section had 3 or 4 ties plus the tab that locks two pieces together. I don't see them listed on their web site but I had them it stock at one time and can probably find you a piece.

If the rails are separated from the ties, you can use CA Adhesive, obviously it won't look like original.  That happens all the time on our modular club modules, we just glue them and move on.

There are little tabs or notches that hold the rails on the ties. On this particular piece of track, all 3 rails have separated from the tabs.  I’ll try contact cement because Loctite Super Glue hasn’t worked.  Thanks for your help.  -MARSHELANGELO 

Why not just replace the piece of track?

 Not that familiar with Atlas track. Can you remove the few plastic ties that are broke ?  Not a match cosmetic wise. Ross sells ties and spikes separately. You could slip the wooden ties in place and spike down the rail.

More than likely that will be the overall solution, I have to get a couple of boxes anyway. Thanks again fellas, much appreciated. - MARSHELANGELO. 

If the rail is short, and is secure on both ends, you can sand the tie thinner and slide in from the side.  Glue with super glue, done.  If the rail is not stable, you should replace.  Curves have more stress then straight.  Make sure to pre drill holes in the rails for power wires.  Easier in a vice on a work bench, than “bench work”.

Guys, some additional Loctite squirted along the rails and everything is good, it’s appearance will be like all the rest after ballasting and weathering. Mission accomplished, thanks - MARSHELANGELO.  

I've used two part epoxy with success.  I probably used J&B plastic weld.  It looks a little sloppy, but you can paint over it.

I was surprised that the CA didn't work, I've used it a ton of times on Atlas track.  It may not be beautiful, but it holds the track in place.

The results will look strange, but GORILLA GLUE should work to hold the rails in place on the ties.

There is a good thread from last year with some tips for repairing Atlas track using HO track spikes.  The post by PRRHORSESHOECURVE near the end of the thread has some good pictures of the process.  I repaired an Atlas turnout using this method and it worked well.

I am amazed at all the glue answers and others. Simply buy the Atlas pieces used for when you cut track. As mentioned by the first response. They are three ties and give you the tabs back also for connecting to next section.  Atlas #6057 Called Snap tie locks.

Atlas O makes a 3 tie section intended for use with flex track; part #6057. Just cut off the broken ties and replace with the new one.

I got the sense that he didn't want to pull up the track to repair it.  I know that's usually our issue with the modular club track, we don't have the time or tools at a show to rip up track and replace it.
