Hi Guys, working on my turntable this weekend. I have 14 lines coming off. Im trying to figure the best way to power each line.

Do I need to run a separate line to the port terminal block for every one or can I wire two terminal strip close to the turntable then one line to PTB ?  If I can should I use a heavier ga wire from each TS to the PTB ?  Or do you recommend a separate transformer for this? layout is 9x22 with 3 loops and the turntable using a Z4000 and one TIU

Thanks !

You could put a terminal block near the  T table and run one set of paired wires from a separate tiu channe to the terminal  block )(fixed 2 or 1 one the var set to fixed)  . From the terminal block add a on/off  toggle to each track.  Using a spare channel will insure a great dcs signal.  I would use the same z-4000 handle for power, It's not like every track is going to be powered up at once with the toggles.

Sure you can... They can be programmed to operate just like fixed 1 &2

Menu/System/ DCS set up/   Select the var channel and hit FXD. The channel is now in fixed mode  and will remember the setting until you change it back. (same  commands  however the fxd is like a toggle switch. It changes the channel from  fixed to var to fixed with each press.  The remote will tell you what mode you've selected.  There is a slight delay powering up the var channel when set to fixed, A second or so and everything comes to life.  You do need full power on the input side of the var channel whether in var or fixed mode. Where you get it is up to you .. jumper from Fixed 1 to the var channel IN might be a option.

First of all it looks really good.  I am in the process of wiring mine up.  I ran mine through the tiu as Gregg suggested and each line I have a toggle switch so I can turn it off.  I believe the toggle switch is a good idea because when the track is powered up the timer on a locomotive is ticking even if that locomotive is not powered up.

Porsche 1662,

I have come to your rescue!  Throw out the factory drive that came with your turn table!!!  About a month ago I posted detailed pics on how I powered my turn table.  Do a search on the forum for my post.  If you cant find it let me know and I'll repost the pics.  It now operates like a dream...smooth as silk and super powerful.
