I just received the email stating the Atlas Warehouse sale would be postponed until 2019. A very recent email now states the event is cancelled.
There must have been A LOT of complaints about this sale for them to cancel it.

Too funny! They can’t even deliver a sale on schedule. LOL! Sorry, couldn’t resist.

Not that I really care but, what would all the complaints have been about?

Assuming since the Golden Spike members didn't get first call, only thing I can guess.
dealers being undersold?

I was thinking along that line too. One or more dealers letting Atlas know their feelings about the warehouse sale OR the dealer(s) said we will buy what is available.
Great. Maybe they will try to do something online,so all of us can participate.

It was probably canceled due to lack of interest.
Atlas has kind of distanced itself from O scale with all of the product delays.
Why is everyone guessing? Here is the E-mail from Atlas. Looks straight forward to me. Don
The Atlas Warehouse Sale Postponed
Dear Atlas Insider,
Due to an overwhelming response for available tickets, and a concern for inclement winter weather, Atlas is postponing the planned Warehouse Sale until 2019. When the new date is announced, individuals who have ordered tickets for the previous event will be emailed with the opportunity to get tickets first. Once that special ordering period is over, remaining tickets (if any) will be made available to the rest of the Atlas Insiders Email List.
Current Golden Spike Club members with membership cards from 2018 or 2019 will also be admitted.
Updated information about the sale will be forthcoming.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
An articulate thoughtful and well written e-mail, "Due to an overwhelming response for available tickets, and a concern for inclement winter weather,".
So you initially schedule an event in the winter in NJ without having any knowledge of what the weather might be? And the overwhelming response for tickets is "that once the special ordering period is over, remaining tickets, if any, will be.....". That means they aren't sold out yet. So the first 2 things they say are nonsense.
If I were a dealer and they were having a December factory sale, I would figure out how to become an ex-dealer.

I truly don't know why the anger. The things they are selling are not regular production items. Dealers are not loosing sales because of these sales. MTH has sold items like this before. Production samples and all the other products. I think we need to support Atlas and keep them in the O scale market. Let's give them a brake and see what they do before we jump all over them. Don

That don't make sense, Lionel has been doing warehouse sales for 5 or 6 years. Deep discounts on new product and open to the public.

This sale is only worth attending for the people who live within 20 to 30 miles of the headquarters. If you live in another state you would have to use a smartphone to contact a person with a smartphone at the sale to see if anything that fits your operations is available.
