ATSF work train/crane tender made from a passenger car?

Here is a photo of a one-of-a-kind Santa Fe crane tender.  Any idea what was used for the chassis?

Other similar prototype photos would be helpful since I am modeling Santa Fe work train equipment.

This is my ATSF Boom car.

I built it from 2 Lionel standard O con's and The center section of a Williams 70ft passenger car.  The wheel trucks and center underframe boxes are from the same Williams passenger car.  The center frame of the boom car is made from a aluminum 2" by 1/8" bar from Lowe's.  The car shop crew put the two half's of the passenger car back together and made a yard office/storage shed for the local yard.

Nice work.

This is one on my project list as I have a set of Heavyweights I don't use which would be perfect for this.

Apparently, ATSF used old Heavyweights as platforms for this MOW train. Hard to tell what was made into what, but my guess is that coaches were cut up and baggage cars used to carry tools, supplies and equipment. Note that flats are at the tail end to carry track sections.

In the case of this MOW train, it looks like the boom car started life as a flat and had a shed added.
