I bought a bag full [50] of the Lionel #110 trestles at the local train show. They did not come with the tie channels to hold them to my 027 track.

I'm interested in hearing all of your creative ways of accomplishing this. Yeah,  I could buy them on the bay but I would like do it myself. [as in cheap]

On only one part of my trestles, I used a twisty tie, putting it through the holes in the track and twisting it tight under the trestle.  This is definitely not the best solution because it is not as tight as using the regular clips.  While I realize that you want to do it yourself, I cannot image anything that could be fabricated to substitute for the regular clips.  If you could do something, it probably would cost you as much or more than just buying the clips to start with.
