Hi Ryan!  Thanks so much for humoring me with a few answers and listening to a few suggestions yesterday at The Big E.  Late in the afternoon I made a suggestion about producing a LionChief Plus 2.0 set in the Connecticut Valley Railroad scheme.

Along with the Strasburg, the Valley Railroad is one of the most successful excursion steam operators in the country.

The engine would be the same LionChief Plus 2-8-2 already in production.  The tender would come from the 0-8-0 starter set line (with die cast trucks I'd assume?).

Here's what it would look like:

Couple on a few Baby Madison cars:

And you've got a set with little to no new tooling costs!

Those are well done videos, but, all I hear is "More Cowbell"!
Is there anywhere along that line where the engine is actually working?

The trip leaving the station is pretty flat with a slight incline the whole way. Never really does much working. On the way back to the station it's all downhill. Pretty much coasts the whole way.

No, 3025 is actually over kill for there needs.  Engine 97 and 40 really look under size next to the cars they are pulling but handle those trains with no problems.   The Christmas runs are so popular now they run three trains at once now.  All Steam.
