I have the Polar Express Automatic Gateman. At first it seems to be OK and as long as the train is on the activator track, the gateman stays out. After a while, though, he comes out and goes right back in, not waiting for the train to exit the isolated portion of track. If I don't run the train over that part of the track for a few minutes, it starts working OK again for a while. What's going on? Is the coil in the electromagnet overheating? That would explain why letting it rest for a few minutes gets it working again. If that's the case, though, this thing is very poorly designed. Does anyone have any real information rather than my wild speculations?
