Joe B:
I'd be interested to see a photo of your layout, since it is almost exactly the same size as mine. I am running an around the wall setup with control area in the middle and a lift-out section for access. I have four main lines - an outer Standard Gauge loop with 87" curves, concentric loops of 0-72 and 0-63, and an inner loop of 0-42 with sidings for accessories and an engine service area. The larger loops do not have sidings.
I'm just finishing up the tracklaying. I had thought of putting a passing siding on the 0-72 instead of the 0-63 loop, which would have made more room for buildings and accessories, but I decided I wanted to be able to run more trains at once. This is also important to me because I operate at a club/museum and a lot of what I do on my home layout involves testing equipment that I am going to run at the museum, so it's nice to be able to keep one loop empty for testing and still run a couple of trains.
4 main lines. May add a subway 5th line.

My layout is centered in the room so I'm able to walk around three sides. My curves are 037 Gargraves with 4 of their switche's. It's my first attemp at a layout. I'm going to be busy for the next week but I'll send some pic's when I can.
Two mainlines with two crossovers, reversing loop, sawmill siding off rev. loop, thru yard lead(no yard yet),one mainline siding. Tom
oh yea it is 91/2 X 14'.
I currently have a double-main with two crossovers and a reverse loop on the inner line.
When I expand the layout, I will, hopefully, be adding a third main (with no switches) on which to run tinplate.

My layout has three mainlines. Two are on the upper level and one on the lower level. For some reason I don't usually run the lower level. And on some occaisions I run only one train. My layout is all traditional operation, you know, cave man days.
