Joe B:

I'd be interested to see a photo of your layout, since it is almost exactly the same size as mine. I am running an around the wall setup with control area in the middle and a lift-out section for access. I have four main lines - an outer Standard Gauge loop with 87" curves, concentric loops of 0-72 and 0-63, and an inner loop of 0-42 with sidings for accessories and an engine service area. The larger loops do not have sidings.

I'm just finishing up the tracklaying. I had thought of putting a passing siding on the 0-72 instead of the 0-63 loop, which would have made more room for buildings and accessories, but I decided I wanted to be able to run more trains at once. This is also important to me because I operate at a club/museum and a lot of what I do on my home layout involves testing equipment that I am going to run at the museum, so it's nice to be able to keep one loop empty for testing and still run a couple of trains.
