I bought a Band O f series engine last nite from tranz on their dash auction site. But from some of the things i am reading i am wondering if this is an engine that belonged to a lash up of three engines . If so will this engine run alone? I heard somebody say they ran off one forward and reverse unit and i have a bad feeling this is not the unit that would control the lash up. If this so and these folks didn't point this out i would have lost a lot of respect for them. If i was selling something like this I would want to make sure that my customers would understand what they are getting or not getting. Most of us would not even think of something like this in an engine. A lot of us are weekend warriors at this , me for one. A lot of this stuff I am learning from you guys is all new to me as I am sure there are a lot people like me out there. I have monkeyed with these all my life but man this hobby is getting very complicated . Anyways sorry I got so long winded but you are the only ones who will listen to me. The wife is sitting here but I am sure she dosen't want to hear about as she is watching her soaps she recorded while we worked today. thanks fellas, charlie criss

Charlie; Do you have a manufacturer and that mfg's catalog number for the engine you purchased?
We'd be able to answer your question better with that information in hand.
Yes It is a 4560 engine number and model number is K2510 F series. Sorry I was away for a minute. Thanks for helping me.
help us alittle bit more Charlie; by the "K+number" you listed is this an engine manufactured by K-Line?
If so I have little information on this particular unit as I don't have any K-Line engines, but someone on this Forum very likely does.
yes it is a kline engine. Not lionel
Is this what you bought?
If so, it should run just fine by itself.
I hope you get your answer.
Wow! Did I have a senior moment. I hope the coffee kicks in soon. I couldn't figure out what a Band O engine was. Now I get it.
That's the girl. I bought it on dash. I bought a box car last week from for 12.00 . That is the only experience I have had with them. A few years ago I bought from trainz and was very happy with what i got. They fixed an engine for us last year and did a good job. Those B and O f engines sure always looked pretty to me. I know you are never suppose to buy a horse for their paint job but I did here. Thanks for your info. I really enjoy your forum. This really something the way you can sit here in your home and talk to so many neat people. Just amazing. Charlie criss
