In 1887;Lewis Emery purchased the MIll Street Refinery in Bradford, and decided that the tiny Kendall Creek refinery was his enemy. Apparently all manner of dirty tricks and deeds were engaged in. Nevertheless, that wee refinery survives today as the oldest refinery in the US, perhaps the world. Now American Refining Group, it is best remembered as Kendall.

This is a tank car such as might have existed in a time when arson and theft failed to bring down Kendall....
