I'm wondering if any O Scale manufacturers are going to make a model of this restoration?
P.S. The B&O Museum has been awfully hush about the restoration on their website.

Forum sponsor Sunset 3rd Rail is making it later this year.

That restoration has been going on for many moons. I wonder if they’re waiting to publicize the restoration for the EMC/EMD anniversary?

Well, that 100th anniversary of EMC/EMD wouldn't be until 2022. Who knows of Progress Rail/Caterpillar will have an "event" anyway.

No kidding.
In fact it is really surprising-to-disconcerting that the museum and historical group hasn't become involved in the market encouragement for railfans...model and prototype...to take note of Scott Mann's (Sunset 3rd Rail) announcement several months ago to FINALLY give EMC's most iconic creation of the last century its due. They probably were well into the restoration when Broadway Limited released the EA/E1's a few short years ago...but who knew?
If only there were another 1:1 E1 shell/chassis remaining which the Santa Fe Railroad Historical and Modeling Society could work with a preservation group to give the EA's only sister...with Leland Knickerbocker's celebrated creation of the 'Warbonnet' paint scheme...its rightful place for all to admire.
But, returning to the Beano Museum's restoration, it's GORGEOUS! Much more so than that last time I saw her sitting somewhat forlornly, disheveled on the outdoor rails adjacent to the museum building more than 25 years ago...with a horrible freight style EMD pilot!!!! Let the kudos abound!

The B&O's EA unit has been restored to great condition. The last time Scott Mann was here for the York TCA meet we went down to Baltimore and saw it. The unit was inside with the passenger pilot on it, but as I recall it was not finished then. It was located in a side building with the C&O Allegheny and some other equipment.
We also went outside with one of the docents to take photos of the GP that was originally a B&O passenger diesel. It does not have the correct B&O emblem on the ends of the unit but the Sunset / 3rd Rail one will.
Scott also took a lot of photos of the C&O 4-6-4 for reference.
Restoration tours upcoming this month. I'm right down the road so hope to get up to the Roundhouse and take some pictures.

Maybe they are into underpromise and overdeliver.
Was this only a cosmetic restoration, or a fully operational restoration?
There's a huge difference...

Rich,
Cosmetic only. Although I understand that both Winton engines are still inside the carbody, the Westinghouse main generators and traction motors were removed long ago (probably because the electrical components were rebuildable for other projects).
Here's a video of the 51 heading into the Roundhouse. Check it out.
Thanks for posting this! Good to see.

@johnstrains - Thank you for the video. I had planned on asking if anyone had visited the museum. I'm glad someone made it. A

You're welcome, but that's not my video. Ran across it in my YT feed. Probably because I've searched there for various B&O stuff.
However, I am planning on getting up there soon. I'm just down the road from the B&O Museum and will get some pics.
NICE JOB!
Just had a chance to watch the video this morning. It looks amazing! They did some very fine work and although operating would certainly be nicer, it still is a fine restoration. Would love to make it to the B&O Museum one day.
The museum is only (supposedly) 3 hours from me. If it wasn't for work, work and cost, I would probably venture up there.
Are those passenger cars all real ex-B&O? They look pretty sharp.
Also, didn’t the museum have a B that matched the A? Nothing comes up in a google search, so maybe I’m mistaken.
Since I live only 15 minutes from the museum, I plan on making one of the restoration tours. The tour schedule is listed below.

The B&O EB units were rebuilt into E8m B units.
