I saw a 1964 Hudson set at the Wyndham in original boxes (no master that I saw) for $1,400.  I don't know, but that seemed like a good deal to me.  Had the operating cattle platform/car also.

I overhead someone saying that the only reason you'd go to the Purple Hall was b/c you were too cheap to book a table at the Wyndham??  I was at both and thought they both seemed really good and I don't know what it cost for a table at the Wyndham.

I checked out Purple Hall, Sheraton, Wyndham, and the Fire Hall. Includes are a couple pics that I took; hopefully more people took more than me. A lot of pre-and postwar Lionel at Wyndham and Sheraton. Fire Hall has a lot of American Flyer. Wyndham has some old Marklin.

Nathan, thanks for captioning the different locations. Nice touch.

Thank for the pics, Nathan……hope to hit the Bandits tomorrow!

You're welcome Peter... worth the 7 hour drive from Cleveland to hit all 4 in one day.

If anyone stops by the Fire Hall, swing by in the far corner to see Dennis Peffer (Independence, OH train show gentleman) and his wife. Tell them that I sent you to say hi (mention my name from the Mod Squad).

I was thinking of driving from Cleveland - but was on the fence - I should have carpooled with someone with a box van to bring back all my purchases....

Steady traffic all day at the Wyndham and Purple Hall......lots of boxes being carried out.

I spent $105 of these fellows to add to my Giraffe train.......and another $20 for a blue car body so that I can change out the yellow car body of the bobbing elephant car.

Here is a video of my current Giraffe Train when running with thr Trackers in Kensington, MD in early September.

Safe travels and a great week to all.....

Please post a video where the string of giraffe cars goes through the telltale actuator.

My friend attended the TCA purple hall show. As a vendor he stated it was slow and attended by a lot of locals. I expected this since its a Monday. Hopefully when out-of-towners come in Tonight and tomorrow,  business will pick up. Here are some pics in the Purple hall

I stopped by that booth and bought an Atlas reefer.  The vendor wasn't particularly happy about the amount of traffic.

I was there around noon today (Tuesday) - not a lot of folks in the purple hall.

Before noon on Tuesday, the Wyndham had decent traffic.  Earlier in the morning, the Four Points didn't have a lot of buyers, but I found some standard gauge deals.  Could have bought more, but it was suggested to me that the basement is already full.  I can still walk down there - how can it be full?

Yes, and the vendor to my understanding packed up and left this afternoon. When one includes the time, food, hotel room, it wasn't worth it to them. Oh well.

Are there any bandit sales still going on Wednesday afternoon?

Wyndham usually winds down by lunch time.  People at the Four Points were talking about packing up on Tuesday afternoon.

That's too bad.  While I understand that it probably wasn't worth it, most of the money was already spent.  I'm glad that I followed the rule of "buy it when you see it".  IMO, $50 per table is a bit steep.  I don't know if he's a TCA member; if not, perhaps he should join, get some tables at the member rate, and be there during the busy times.  His Atlas reefer prices seemed fair (better than some folks who think they're made of gold) - I'm guessing that he would have sold a lot of them during the meet.

So if the bandit meets have wound down, any suggestions on what to do this afternoon and tomorrow morning?  Any places selling?

Might check out the fire station just off the fairgrounds.  Mostly Flyer, but I think they tend to stay open longer.  Visit the attractions in Strasburg (about a 45 minute drive each way) - TCA museum, Choo Choo Barn, Strasburg RR (last train leaves at 2 and returns at 2:45 - I find it more fun to watch than to ride), RR museum across the road from Strasburg.  These are all great places that are within a few hundred yards of each other.

One caveat - if you're driving back to York, leave Strasburg by 3:30 to avoid the worst traffic.

I went to the bandit meets all 3 days. The parking lot at the Wyndham was light on Monday, but had a lot more people selling today. The purple hall didn’t have  close to 150 tables, but most of the sellers had good deals  I went all 3 days, and more sellers attended each day. I thought it was worth checking out the shows each day. We went to Strasburg and checked out all the train related stuff. Lancaster county has some excellent antique stores too. Looking forward to meeting people at the breakfast tomorrow.

Bob
