I have run into an issue with the BASE3/CAB3 that does not appear to be well documented in control.lionel.com.    I have found and programed the speed limit on several Legacy engines using the CAB3.  It works fine and works when choosing a different CAB3 device ( such as switching from an iPhone to an iPAD ).  The directions at control.lionel.com state:

The speed limit is saved into the engine’s record in the Base3. This means that the speed limit will be set on all remotes you use, whether the Cab3 APP or a hardware remote like the Cab2.

I interpreted all remotes to include a brand new ( to me ) CAB-1L.  However, when I switch to the CAB-1L, the speed limit I set is not active.   It states this programmed setting is saved in the BASE3 but does not appear to carry over to the CAB-1L.  Anyone else having similar results ?  Is this working as designed or is there a bug that needs to be reported ?

Every product I use has latest version of OS, firmware, etc ( phone, iPad, Base3, CAB3, etc. ).

Thoughts ?  Thanks for your feedback...

Cab1L is one way communication.  It sends only.  It has no way of knowing what the speed limit setting is.  This is functioning normally.

I read your reply on the other thread too Marty.  Frankly I'm bummed.  It sounds like the CAB-1L / BASE 3 combo isn't really a good replacement for our dear, departed CAB-2.    Hopefully someone, if not Lionel, will cobble together a hand-held controller that achieves two-way communication with the BASE-3, and does everything you can do with the phone app.
