The 3V BCR is easy to build, you can roll your own for around $5-6 in a few minutes.  I buy the caps at Digikey and just add wire and the two-pin connector.

The ESR is pretty high on that model.   G

I just use two 3 F 2.7 v supercaps in series, they were about $2.50 each, so you can make your own for $5 each. They work great. I have done all 8 of my 3V engines.

The batteries were acting up in some of them and I was getting low sounds until I replaced them with the home made BCRs.

GGG is right, I checked the specs on that cap, not low enough ESR.  The ones that I use are no longer available, but I found these on eBay with a suitable ESR, they're $20 for four of them.

I think you may be running into some reader/contributor fatigue as this is a recurring theme. Refer to the following:

If the single supercap alternative is too expensive, do what KevinE suggests.  The thread above even has exact part ordering info and pictures of completed Do-It-Yourself units using this 2 supercap approach (along with a couple zener diodes that are about a dime each).
