Well done Barry. I love the cover. This is a book we all should have.
Great work Barry.
When is it available and where can I purchase it?
That's great, Barry!! I need to learn more about the Wifi and the app. It may sound silly, but the best thing about the smart device app in my opinion is that my thumbs don't hurt all the time. That thumbwheel on the remote is a killer when you have arthritis bad!
Barry,
Will we be able to purchase it right here on the OGR again?

Marty,
I love the cover. This is a book we all should have.
I completely agree!
Kris, Mark, Dave,
There'll be an announcement the middle of next week with all the details. For now, I'll just say that there's 20% (42 pages) of additional material, some of which I don't believe has ever been published previously.
Many thanks to Marty Fitzhenry and Jim Osborne who reviewed my work.
I want one and autographed like the rest will be a great resource.!
I maybe wrong, it seems like you're a busy man lately. I hope MTH keeps you busy. It's great for the hobby!
Thanks for doing this.
Joe,
You're welcome!
I heartily agree with Joe!!! Thank you very much Barry!!
Cool Barry, just let us all know it is available for purchase. Can I get mine autographed, please. I am pasted the planning stage of the layout build and starting the control systems board build of the layout and this will come in handy.
Kris,
Details to follow later next week...
Regardless, if you desire a personal autograph, you'll have to se eme in person. York would be a good time to do so.
Will you have copies for sale at York DCS Meeting. Also will I need to purchase another Electronic version also ( I have both Hard copy and Electronic).
High technology is nice but I just wonder what part of the market wants to run their trains via WiFi, Bluetooth or even straight DCS, TMCC or Legacy? It could be less than half.
Curtis,
Will you have copies for sale at York DCS Meeting.
Dennis,
I just wonder what part of the market wants to run their trains via WiFi, Bluetooth or even straight DCS, TMCC or Legacy?
I don't let questions like that keep me up at night.
Barry,
I cannot wait until I can order two of the printed copies of the DCS WiFi Companion 2nd Edition, and hopefully one of the electronic versions.
Now, I just have to wait until they become available so I can get the printed copies, and have you autograph the same.

Don't know the actual number, but that number certainly has been growing over the past decade or so at a good rate (myself included). There will always be a segment of the hobby that is perfectly content with conventional control, of course, but for many existing operators and for those who are just entering the hobby, there's little doubt that the future is in command control and the great flexibility it offers.
I just run DCS WIFI for my layout using the explorer. I don't have a big layout, so running two trains is about all I can run. If it wasn't for the DCS WIFI, I probably would have been with Lionchief plus. It made the DCS system easier for me to run my trains. Thank you MTH and Barry for making this system easier for guys like me that like the command systems without the complexity.
Hi Barry: The sub title to your new books says: “Run Your Trains from Your Smart Device”
I went to a MTH DCS Wi-Fi seminar and the keynote speaker was Mike Wolf, CEO of MTH Electric Trains. He taught me how to use MTH DCS Wi-Fi on my android phone that I brought to his seminar. He convinced me to purchase an Apple iOS device and I did. This short video is what I learned from Mike and than came home and got it all to work.
Mike is on the left and I am on the right. He is a very gracious CEO and granted me a YT interview.
See frame - 1:56 in this video Mike talks about why I should purchase an Apple iOS device to run my trains.
In this video I purchased an Apple iPhone 7 Plus, and I am now running over 20 locomotive with MTH DCS Wi-Fi.
Now for the Question: The sub title to your new books says: “Run Your Trains from Your Smart Device” Is MTH Electric Trains dropping “Run My Trains” on an Apple iOS, iPhone or iPad?
I have a suggestion: Change the sub tile to: “Run Your Trains with any Apple iOS or Android Smartphone or Tablet”.
Thanks: Gary
Gary,

The book has no "sub-title". The cover has words.
I have a suggestion: Change the sub tile to: “Run Your Trains with any Apple iOS or Android Smartphone or Tablet”.
As I stated, the book has no "sub-title". Further, your statement is lacking.
Patience, grasshopper, and all will be revealed.
Will there be an eastern version with maybe a NS engine on the cover? Maybe with blinking leds.

Hi Barry: I was an AP Photographer back in the day and a H.S. Yearbook Advisor for 35 years, We do not use the term "Words" - Correct term is Subtitle / Tagline or the slang term, Cut Line.
We also used the Associated Press Style Book, still sold today & they follow the elements below.
Gary: Yes I will wait with the grasshoppers for your big announcement. Patience....................

I think Mike Wolfe said Android runs a lot slower. Don't know where he got that from. Several of us run Android at our club with 6 WIUs and it runs just as well as Apple. Either is good but I think it's unfair to suggest you need to spend extra money for an Apple device if you already have an Android device.

Hi Chris Lord: I agree it is unfair to go out and purchase an Apple Device. We still use Android Phones in my train room. My adult son and my wife have MTH DCS Wi-Fi on an Android. My Verizon Phone Contract ran out in July of 2017 and I went to the Apple Store and purchased the iPhone 7 Plus, and they made it work with my old phone number.
Frame 1:59 / In the video Mike suggested that I should look for a used iPad for about $100.00
I also purchased the Apple Care Plan, which gives a phone number to Apples Help Desk. They even give help to MTH Wi-Fi, if you ask for a Senior Advisor, they call it 3rd party help. Just the basics.

Chris,
I've used several devices with the DCS App and the fastest are my iPhone 7 and iPad mini 4.
I also use an older iPad mini which is the slowest of the bunch. However, the Best Buy "house brand" (Insignia, I believe) tablet I bought new just a few months ago, while faster than the iPad mini, is still quite a bit slower than the other two Apple devices.
The Insignia tablet was only $70.00 so it's mostly a "you get what you pay for" kind of scenario. The bottom line is that if what you use works for you, that's all that's required.
I also have one more device that I use with the app, however, that's a story for another time.
