Personally, I don't think it will happen. If posters can't even post questions about scenery related subjects on the "Scenery Forum", or electrical related subjects on the "Electrical & Wiring Forum", or even that they are looking to buy something or other on the "Wanted to Buy Forum", how can they be expected to look for, and post on, a "Beginners Forum"?

Whew.  That's some mighty low expectations.

I'm pretty sure that if beginner folk can find this forum they're not exactly brain dead and could probably locate a beginner area.  Just looking to possibly help newbies.

I don't know.....  If you put up a beginners forum who but beginners would contribute?  I have made my fair share of stupid posts on this forum but inevitably someone straightened me out pretty quickly.  I believe most of the consistent contributors do a great job of helping new people out.  And those are the posts I want and need to read.....

I ummm posted a very similar question recently, but foolishly called it a care and feeding forum, as that's what most of we beginners tend to post about. Rich shot the idea down, suggesting folks could use advanced search. I'm good with that. I think folks that don't like these repetitive questions, could just avoid hem. The forum should be a welcoming environment for hobbyists, from the newest noob, to the most experienced. If I can skim past a title that refers to something I'm not interested in, so can most folks. While I really support the concept of a forum, where the common questions could be found. I'm not willing to volunteer to moderate it. 2) In thinking about it, the viscera elicited when folks respond to the simple questions, might just scare folks off, if we concentrated it in one place 3) Whether it's a separate forum, or just misplaced, remember, it's everyones forum. 4) On that same note, there is something of being part of the community when you start a topic and can respond when people ask about your particular spin. It's not all about searching. It isn't wikipedia for trains. It's a place to interact about trains
