I'm looking to rebuild and considering ready made benchwork. I would be interested to hear from those who have used these; what are the pros and cons of these two brands?
Thanks

I have Mianne and it is great. Easy to install and solid. Check out their web site.
Jeff,
I used the Mianne system to build my layout and was quite pleased. It went together quickly and formed a solid framework for my layout. I would definitely recommend it.

I have nothing but good things to say about Mianne Benchwork Product and customer Service. Have worked with them over the last 6 years including expansion projects to my original footprint.Once you understand how they are built it goes very quickly for someone who has no building talent(myself). Also it is in my basement and have had no warping issues.
I am using it on my current and probably last layout in my bedroon in my condo apt.
I used it because it required no sawing, screwing etc. I have 1/2" plywood with 1" pink styrofoam on top. It went up in 6 hrs by myself and a screwdrives. It was delivered in 2 - 8" X8" boxes 4 feet long. Here is a pic.
I’ll be reading replies with interest.
I’m getting ready to start my next layout (adjacent to an existing one) and am seriously considering Mianne this time. It’s funny because I’ve always done my own bench work and actually enjoy it. Well, almost. I first saw Mianne at York one year and, frankly, never thought I’d even consider it. But it’s very tempting and I’ll likely be placing an order with them in the coming weeks.
I use Seivers. Very clear pine, solid wood. Comes with all the screws and nuts and bolts. It is ordered in standard sections which you can bolt together however you visualize your layout. Many choices and table heights can be modified if the offered heights are not what you want. Never a problem with a dozen orders.
I walk on the table...185 lbs.
Give us an idea as to the cost & how it's shipped.

As you might guess, cost depends on the size of the layout.
Here are links for both companies with all the particulars:

It came from Wisconsin, shipped by UPS. Once the ferry to Washington Island was frozen up so I had to wait a couple extra days . Well packed. The website has prices for each individual module. Hard to say, but from what I've seen of both, prices are probably similar...but with Seivers, you make up your own kit. So YMMV.
