K-Line gave the club a Berkshire many years ago. It has many miles on it and a new axle gear. The motor is a Pittman 8691, although that may have been installed by the guy who cut the axle gear. The motor just ran out of shaft lubrication, then stalled and burned up. I guess they were hoping it would just start up again, so they left voltage on it.
Options? Call Lionel? I used to have a direct line to Pittman, but lost that when their factory motors took a giant leap forward in price for onesies and twosies. Any hints appreciated.
