So what other goodies could be in the catalog for those who don't have the money for the big boy?
How about a UP greyhound mountain, that would do it for me.

All hail, SD 35s.
The return of the PWCS/Conventional Classics. Going by that-a Turbine set, and a NH EP-5 with the reverse orange and black lettering, and what ever other they can come up with for the series.

Bill,
I heard at York that the pwc and the like sets are not to be made again. I heard this stated at least twice. Maybe they will come up with something else.
There is nothing I want that much. I will wait for the next catalog.
Not a lot for me either.
The latest Lionel catalog was a bit disappointment, but that happens. Still, I was mostly a "Lionel" guy, and is is the first time in several years that, for me, the MTH catalogs have had much more than the Lionel did. I have only one loco (UP A-A version of the new Legacy E-9s) on order from Lionel (along with a set of cars for it), but I have four locos pre-ordered from MTH (Premier S-1, Propane Turbine, and Dreyfus Hudson, and the Imperial Triplex). Hopefully I will get at least two of these by Christmas!
I get these catalogs for free, I pour through them, and I am embarrassed to take them when there has lately been little if anything I want. With the stock market, and, hopefully, the economy up, maybe the next ones (or one from anybody?) will have something new.
One thought was that Lionel would do the 1950 Hudson sets as part of the Conventional Classics Series now that they have produced the three madison cars that were in the passenger version. They have the K-Line scale hudson tooling and could use that.
