On Thanksgiving 2022, the Bessemer and Lake Erie ran one of their very erratic "miscellaneous" trains, which handle all of the non-ore traffic on the ore conveyor route. For railfans, the misc trains are highly sought after, as they are the (almost) sole refuge of the remaining Bessemer-painted and standard cab power on the railroad. On this day, the power was SD38-2 868 and SD38 862. At the time, the former was the last engine to have never left the Bessemer since it was delivered by EMD; since then, the unit went to Danville, NY, for work, and the 866 has replaced it.

Trailing the SD38s was a CN SD70M-2 heading to Butler for interchange to the Buffalo & Pittsburgh, heading out for servicing. The train also worked one of the most consistent customers online, the Bennett Supply yard at Harmar, just before the railroad crosses the Allegheny River.
