What's the least amount of $$$ your employer needs to pay you to work for them? Regardless of what you tell them, somebody else will do your job for $1 less.

P.S. Relative to your question, I don't think you'll go wrong with any of the forum sponsors here. Street price is $2K give or take $25 dollars... which you probably already know since you're looking to buy a second one. Why not get it at the dealer where you bought your first Big Boy? Perhaps he'll knock a few dollars off the second one.
keep watching the buy/sell ads here and elsewhere. There are bound to be at least a few of these surfacing from buyers with second thoughts. If you are willing to take a "used"one you could save lots but of course you would get no warranty. I think that after about six months more some of these will be surfacing at good prices.
Right now I agree with the post above as to cost.

M.B. Klein, modeltrainstuff.com internet site, shows cab numbers (1) 4005 and (3) 4012 in stock. They are also priced at $2,000 like most other internet hobby shops.

trainz is selling them for 1920 on there dash site and buy it now on dash has no buyers fees.. Not saying i like trainz but the price is decent..
I got it from Charles Ro. A few minutes ago.
good choice, I know he had at least 2 of the 4014 left over of the 3 he ordered for me
Got mine from CHARLIE, CHRIS, from NASSUA HOBBY. Thanks CHRIS!!! All is well.
Mr. Muffins had a few left last week, Priced at $1989 Delivered...I really feel this engine will be hard to find fairly soon, new from dealers. If you buy it second hand, the 2 year warranty I'd null and void. However, if you get a receipt, it might work for warranty.
This Locomotive is Definitely an Exceptional Performer, Crowd Pleaser! Keep Searching!
