Our favorite switcher is our MTH Imperial PRR 0-6-0 USRA switcher. With DCS and operating front and rear couplers, switching assignments are easily executed anywhere on the layout. It is also strong enough to venture on the main line pulling a freight train.

For switching my favorite is this Lionel 0-8-0, very slow speed operation, powerful, has never let me down so far.
