im trying to make some decisions about a secondary train for freight rolling stock on my christmas layout...  Rumors are there is a Bi-polar express in the 2019 catalog.

if you had a choice between these two, which would you choose and why?  Some of the most fascinating things i have read on these forums are the very particular reasons for the decisions people have had with their layouts.   the movie itself seems to be set in a time when both could have been seen...

im leaning towards the Bi-polar because it will have the accurate name instead of polar railroad.  My GP-7 would fetch maybe half the buying price for it or so.  I would love to hear anyone who would care to weigh in.

Michigan Ohio Valley Lines, are you pulling the lever on a Bi-Polar express? BigCrabCake?

Speaking from a fantasy POV, Santa would be more likely to operate a Bipolar locomotive than a diesel. The Bipolar is one of the most unique trains - real and toy - ever made - articulating around curves it is a joy. I have the early PS2 version and missed the first run of Lionel's more streamlined design. IMO, it'd be a whole lot more fun to watch than a drone-looking diesel.
